UFC 224 Play-By-Play: Mackenzie Dern Quickly Submits Amanda Bobby Cooper

Considering Cooper is now essentially a "strawweight vs flyweight", it's no wonder Cooper is perturbed with Dern's extra 7.4 pounds.

Those ugly numbers spawmed a ton of backlash for Dern on social media, as a number of fighters including her UFC 224 Amanda Cooper took to social media to voice their displeasure with Dern's unprofessionalism.

Dern made her UFC debut at UFC 222 defeating Ashley Yoder by split decision. Entering the scrap, Dern held a 6-0 record with three submission victories. Of course, she'll have to turn over 30% of her purse (10% via the commission, 20% via the UFC) to Cooper, but she still got the win.

Make what you will of her weigh-in on Friday, but on Saturday night Mackenzie Dern put her skills on display. The fights went on as planned under a catchweight, and Dern won both.

Short left for Cooper as the two step into range.

The knife attack in Paris: new details
The claim was not substantiated and French officials outright didn't say the attack was linked to the terrorist group. Paris has been under higher security in recent years after a string of deadly Islamic extremist attacks.

"When I got here, I was okay, but the people in the UFC, they were a little bit anxious", Dern told MMA Junkie earlier this week.

Dern followed her down to the mat where she quickly moved into the mount before rolling over to take the back.

Dern remains undefeated in her professional career with a flawless 7-0 record with back-to-back wins inside the Octagon.

The start of the fight saw Dern looking for power-punches and the moment she looked for eventually came with a fully committed right hand that dropped the 26-year-old.
