Chelsea boss Conte remains coy on Morata future

Chelsea are eyeing a move for Paris Saint-Germain star, Edinson Cavani if they eventually sell striker, Alvaro Morata to Juventus this summer.

The 25-year-old arrived from Real Madrid last year with big expectations, but he's struggled to settle and adapt with the Blues as he's managed just 15 goals in 46 appearances.

Indeed, the Spain global has attributed his hard form to regular painkilling injections, and hit back at his critics in the process .

Morata enjoyed a successful two-year spell at the club between 2014-2016, bagging 27 goals in 93 games before Real Madrid triggered their buy-back clause.

But Conte has insisted Morata must focus on the remainder of this season and also prepare for the 2018/19 campaign.

Morata has scored just 11 goals in the Premier League this season for Chelsea.

I'm going to sleep with a brace on. "I'm pitching the rest of the year", he said confidently. Right now the plan to treat his ailment is just to get worked on by the training staff.

"I don't like to comment on speculation", Conte told reporters.

Chelsea might have a job tempting him away from the French capital if they don't qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. "I like the focus to be on the whole team, not only the one player".

Chelsea are now fifth in the Premier League table, and sit two points behind Tottenham, and three behind Liverpool.

Forward Alvaro Morata has been declared fit for Chelsea's Premier League fixture with Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night.

Their hopes of making a top-four finish will have to depend on Spurs not having maximum points in their last two matches.
