An inter-agency search and rescue team in California on Friday also recovered some personal items and numerous parts of a vehicle from a swollen river in which the missing Indian family was travelling last week.

The Thottapilly family, Sandeep, his wife Soumya, 38, and their two children, 12-year-old Siddhant and his 9-year-old sister Saachi, embarked on a trip to Portland, Oregon from their Valencia residence on March 30.

On Thursday, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office said it had found belongings of the Thottapilly family, of Santa Clarita, as well as vehicle parts from their SUV about 14 miles down river from where investigators believe they rolled down an embankment.

Before the family was reported missing, authorities were already searching for a vehicle that had been seen falling into the roiling Eel River on April 6. Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m., and a celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11 a.m.

"Several items have been positively identified, by family members, as belonging to the Thottapilly family", it said. At a press conference on Friday, the Coroner originally said that the body was that of a child but later said that it was an adult female. Five bodies were found March 26 near Mendocino, a few days after Washington state authorities began investigating the Harts for possible child neglect, but three of their children were not immediately recovered from the scene along the shoreline.

The lost vehicle was reportedly southbound on Highway 101, pulled into a turnout and went over the side and into the river. The search teams were able to cover approximately 12 miles of river bank by foot and 60 miles by helicopter.
