Fire police on the scene said the blaze was quickly extinguished once firefighters arrived. High winds spread the flames to the North Park area. Those same conditions were reported on Thursday.

County spokeswoman Jody Saunders said the evacuation order was lifted early Friday.

Sevier County dispatchers tell 10News a brush fire in the 1400 block of Hansard Drive was called in around 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning. "The final size is estimated to be approximately 300 acres".

The fire has burned at least 15 acres and continues to grow. The area on Thursday was under a red flag warning that weather conditions made wildfires a possibility.

It took firefighters from five departments just over three hours to put out the fire, which burned about 7 acres.

The brush fire was ignited after wind blew over a tree, which fell onto power lines, bringing down a live wire that caught the woods on fire, Davis said.
