Jets top Wild 3-2 in playoff opener

The hits were seemingly harder.

Doughty, a Norris Trophy contender and Los Angeles' top defender, was suspended for Friday night's Game 2 against Vegas for what the league called an avoidable hit to Carrier's head. A pretty cool experience. We have to take care of business at home.

This is a familiar spot for the Wild, which has tripped into a 0-2 hole in a playoff series for a fourth straight time.

The Wild are 1-6 in their last seven conference quarterfinal games. And that led to the Flyers' first goal of the playoffs - a deep shot from Shayne Gostisbehere.

Winnipeg outshot Minnesota 31-8 over the final 40 minutes (44-17 overall) and finally got some pucks past Wild netminder Devan Dubnyk.

Expect Patrik Laine to spearhead Winnipeg's efforts in the attacking zone as he tries to build off scoring in Game 1.

Matt Cullen and Zach Parise scored for Minnesota.

All heck broke lose in the final seconds as a frustrated Minnesota squad seemingly wanted a pound of flesh.

Wingers Daniel Winnik and Brandon Taven fought.

"Everybody got out healthy".

With the Penguins flying high and focused on the task at hand Friday, they should cruise to a 2-0 series advantage while the Flyers struggle to pose a consistent attacking challenge.

So it took less than five minutes of the third period for the teams to combine for three goals.

"We had an opportunity with the lead in the third period and our goaltender playing good, we thought we had a chance to win", Minnesota coach Bruce Boudreau said.

"It tells me that enough is enough".

Pic Talk: Sneak peek of Keerthy Suresh as Mahanati
The black and white portion of the film looks great and we can not wait to see how Savitri's life takes form on the silver screen. Keerthy Suresh's resemblance to Savitri is unbelievable in the poster and it's very hard to find any major difference.

And even then there was no push back by the Wild.

If the Wild can steal a Game 2 win, they still have a tremendous shot at winning this series.

"Just another day at the office", Byfuglien said of his impact.

Assist - If you're involved in passing the puck prior to a goal scored, you receive an assist for assisting on the goal.

George Parros is a busy man early in the Stanley Cup playoffs thanks to a rash of questionable hits around the National Hockey League. It doesn't happen very often. While you're here you might as well give it all you've got. You know that's just part of the game. They have now won their last six games in a row and 12 of their last 13 and will look to keep it going tonight.

Maurice said veterans such as Byfuglien are really driving the bus right now for Winnipeg, but it's simply a continuation of his strong play during the regular season. "We gotta figure out a way to get some offensive zone time and I feel like we've been playing on three quarters of the rink for two games now".

But just because police didn't arrest anyone doesn't mean they weren't busy - some of their measures are intentionally low-key, he said. Down the East Coast, Wilson's hit on Wennberg allowed the Blue Jackets to tie the score in a game they won in overtime. "This is a great time of year for him". His first came in a 4-3 loss to the Washington Capitals on May 4, 2009. That included an early power-play opportunity.

They certainly did this night.

"Yeah", Hellebuyck said when asked if he was disappointed in not posting a shutout. "The lineup hasn't been quite full", said forward Bryan Little, who began Wednesday's game centring Perreault's line alongside Joel Armia.

"It was a fun one".

-It took a while for Game 3 to end, with scrums breaking out in the waning minute.

One will go in an alcohol-free area at Millennium Library Park, where True North vice-president for venues and entertainment Kevin Donnelly says you can bring those lawn chairs there wasn't space to set down on Wednesday night. "The guys played so well in front of me, there's no fault". Once again the line made life miserable for Minnesota's offence. Jack Roslovic assisted on Myers' and Copp's tallies. But (Byfuglien) is always moving around, too, so that's what makes him tough to defend. "Leadership is much about consistency, being consistent in how you play and how you treat the people around you".

Wilson was suspended two preseason games for interference and then for the first four regular-season games for boarding but had cleaned up his game since. But it's not going to be easy obviously.
