Donald Glover to Headline SNL in May

Actor, director and musician Donald Glover, has been revealed to be hosting and performing as a musical guest at Saturday Night Live on May 5.

Donald Glover got his start writing for 30 Rock, a show about a fictional live sketch comedy show like SNL, and as a member of Derrick Comedy, an actual sketch comedy group.

Glover is doing phenomenal work with his FX dramedy series Atlanta (especially with the shocking "Teddy Perkins" episode) but he has bigger plans on the big screen as well. He now stars on his acclaimed FX show Atlanta, and he'll next be seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story as the scoundrel Lando Calrissian and in Disney's live-action Lion King as Simba.

This marks the first time Glover will appear on the show in either capacity. Prior to creating and starring in Atlanta, he was one of the stars of the NBC sitcom Community.

Glover has also dabbled in stand-up comedy and most recently won a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance for the Childish Gambino song, "Redbone".
