Kirk Cousins will likely sign with the Minnesota Vikings with Case Keenum going to the Denver Broncos.
Within the first 12 hours of the NFL's legal tampering period Monday, the Broncos held preliminary talks with Cousins but moved in on Keenum and quickly reached an agreement by late that night. Keenum and the Vikings earned the No. 2 seed and advanced to the NFC Championship following a last-second touchdown pass from Keenum to Stefon Diggs in an NFC Divisional Round game against the Saints.
ESPN reports that the Broncos considered Cousins and also had discussion about former Keenum teammate Teddy Bridgewater, but instead went with Keenum on what is expected to be a short-term deal, per 9News. Cousins is now deciding between the Vikings, the New York Jets and the Arizona Cardinals, Schefter reported. He played two-plus seasons each for the Texans (where he played for Broncos adviser Gary Kubiak) and Rams, and one season with the Vikings. And the team did pick up the $4 million on Demaryius Thomas' contract, as John Elway said he would do two weeks ago at the NFL Combine.

Siemian, Lynch and Chad Kelly, a seventh-rounder previous year who sat out his rookie season with injuries, remain on the roster.
"I still think we're not too far away", Elway said at the combine. This figure and the term of the contract - unlike with Cousins - should not preclude the Broncos from drafting a quarterback fifth overall if they choose to go in that direction.
Keenum, 30, brings playoff experience, strong leadership, and lingering questions about whether last season was the start of a career renaissance or an aberration.
"There were some things we should have done differently that we didn't do".
