Eagles agree to one-year deal with NT Ngata

With the additions of Haloti Ngata (6-4/345) and Michael Bennett up front to an already stacked defensive line, the Birds are going to be a nightmare for opposing teams to try to run and pass against.

Ngata, who played with the Ravens from 2006 to 2014 before signing a free-agent contract with the Detroit Lions. Douglas served as a scout in Baltimore from 2000 to 2015. He'll be a rotational part of the Eagles' defensive line this coming season.

Also, Denver Broncos linebacker Corey Nelson intends to sign a 1-year deal with the Eagles, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Ngata just turned 34 years old and is coming off a season in which he played in just five games for the Detroit Lions before needing surgery to fix a torn bicep. Before the 2017 season, Ngata went to the The Sports Neurology Clinic at the CORE Institute in Brighton, Michigan, for an examination before deciding to play.
