Wa-hoo! Google Maps transforms for 'Mario Day'


Update the maps app from Google Play or the App Store.

Engineer at Google Maps, said the company has collaborated with the team at Japanese video game company Nintendo "to let Mario accompany you on all of your driving adventures on Google Maps this week".

And in honor of Nintendo's beloved and iconic character, Nintendo has partnered with Google and added a feature to navigate the mean streets as Mario in Mario Kart. "To get to Mario Time, tap on the yellow "?" symbol that is accessible in the base right of the Google Maps application in the wake of updating the application to the most recent version. To turn on this feature, drivers will have to start navigation to a particular location. Users are now digging into the new mode trying to see if they can spot any additional Easter Eggs. Just be on the lookout for blue shells and banana peels. Mario is showing up in Maps for the festival of Mar10 Day and will stay accessible in the application for no less than seven days, as announced by MacRumors.

Google is playing great today by bringing Nintendo's mustachioed star, Mario to Google Maps in another Mario Kart to observe Mario Day - March 10. Maps were transformed into a Ms. PacMan game for April Fool's Day 2017 and, in 2015, figures from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" appeared in Google Maps.
