Browns make flurry of trades, add veterans

The Cleveland Browns might be the buzz of the National Football League world on the last Friday prior to free agency, but one of the teams they made a trade with is going to be making some news here shortly.

Smith caught 36 passes for 430 yards and two touchdowns in the 2017 regular season and added 13 receptions for 157 yards and one score in the Eagles' playoff run to the Super Bowl crown.

The large number of draft picks provides general manager Brandon Beane plenty of assets to use in trades in the event he elects to move up higher in the draft order.

His next 16 regular-season career games will be played in the AFC North.

"Y'all better understand s-- about to get SERIOUS".

Trades can not be made official until the NFL's new league year begins next Wednesday. In the meantime, the Browns get a guy who can start right away at cornerback and has a history of making plays.

What Browns GM John Dorsey's collective Friday actions did reveal, however, in his trades for Taylor, Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry and Packers defensive back Damarious Randall, is that Dorsey is going to be decisive in identifying the players he wants and aggressive in pursuing them in his first year running the Browns. The Browns are expected to attempt to work out a long-term deal with Landry. In response to the news of the trade, Gordon tweeted four trophy emojis.

The Bills have traded quarterback Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Browns are still expected to take a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft.

Taylor, 28, carries only one year of starter's money ($18 million cap hit, per on his current contract, so he sets up as a flawless stop-gap for a more affordable rookie quarterback who can sit for a year and learn, or replace Taylor halfway through 2018 if he's ready.

As for Taylor, he is one of the game's safest quarterbacks in terms of avoiding turnovers. They could also target a QB in the draft or look for a veteran in free agency.

The move reportedly saves the Eagles $4 million in cap space. Haley spent the past six seasons working with Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell.
