Despite a change in focus, Google confirmed that it will continue to offer users access to the free version of Hangouts. Our Content Intelligence platform delivers smart content collaboration and governance in the cloud or on-premises to thousands of businesses around the world even the most regulated industries. But, Meet was made available to public and Chat went into an invite-only preview. However now it is being made widely available.

"With dedicated, virtual rooms to house projects over time-plus threaded conversations-Chat makes it simple to track progress and follow up tasks", Johnston added. Showing not just signs of life but a hint of commitment, it is now making a part of Hangouts, specifically, Chat available for all G Suite users. Chat now supports 28 languages and each room can support up to 8,000 members.

Another bot, @Meet, integrates directly with Google's Calendar app to schedule meetings.

The app, available on desktop browsers, iOS and Android, is an update to the existing Hangouts internet chat tool. Utilized in over 180 countries by more than 11 million users, including Comcast, NASA, Netflix, Target, and Xerox, Lucidchart has continued to grow in revenue each year since the company's founding in 2010 and has received numerous awards for its business and workplace culture.

And, of course, this wouldn't be a Google product without some use of AI. He explained that Google wants "to move toward helping people move faster at work".

Rival Slack is already popular among businesses and has signed 50,000 paying teams as more and more professionals search for alternatives to emails for long distance communications. Microsoft's Teams provides similar functionality in its Office 365 package, which is well ahead of G Suite in customers.
