Rolls-Royce rolls out 8th generation Phantom, starting at ₹9.5 crore

The standard Phantom is 5.7m long, while the extended wheelbase version is almost six metres (5,982mm) in length, with a wheelbase of 3,772mm.

Cutting-edge innovations include a new exclusive "Architecture of Luxury", an all-aluminium spaceframe created to underpin every future Rolls-Royce; great enhancements in technology, drive train, suspension and driver assistance systems to produce a peerless "magic carpet ride"; and a new, world-first "Gallery" that allows owners to personalise a moving art piece.

"From the day we conceived of Cullinan we were focussed on offering a truly authentic and luxurious Rolls-Royce experience to our customers through fascinating surprise and delight features", comments Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce. The new Phantom has altered in size as well as it's 77 mm shorter, 8 mm taller and 29 mm wider.

The front end is sharper than before and features laser headlamps and the revised Parthenon grille sits higher up, in turn, raising the iconic spirit of Ecstacy by around half an inch.

"The new Phantom is 10-12 per cent more expensive, 10 per cent quieter (at 100 km/hour) and 30 per cent sturdier than its predecessor", said Paul Harris, Asia Pacific Regional Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, during the launch here. Customers can choose from numerous leather upholstery options and there are numerous options including different types of wood finishes on offer for the various trim pieces. This platform will underpin most new cars from the brand's future lineup, including the upcoming Cullinan SUV.
