Square Enix Officially Reveals Monsters Inc World For Kingdom Hearts III

Disney and Square have unleashed a brand new Kingdom Hearts III trailer at D23 Japan and it features none other than a Monsters Inc world including Mike and Sully.

Unfortunately we still have no release date for Kingdom Hearts 3, though it's still apparently pegged for 2018.

This new trailer showcases Goofy, Donald, and Sora on an adventure in the world of Monsters, Inc. According to Square Enix she has a number of ways to use her hair in the game. There's also a mini game which looks similar to a Game & Watch title.

Kingdom Hearts III is one of this year's most anticipated games. Firstly there's an exploration phase, which is thought to be open world based.

In terms of progress, Square Enix revealed that development has been split into three sections, Early, Middle, and Late. It didn't confirm what stage the end section is, but Tetsuya Nomura, director of the series, said it was "something he's always wanted to do and put into Kingdom Hearts, ever since the days of working on Final Fantasy". He also stated that "It is bound to surprise everyone".

With this latest trailer having a bunch of gameplay to parse through, it's looking very likely that Kingdom Hearts fans will finally get Kingdom Hearts III at the tail-end of this year.

Another exciting trailer also revealed the new theme song for the game Dont Think Twice by Utada Hikaru, the artist behind the iconic songs Simple and Clean and My Sanctuary from previous games in the series.
