Mock Drafts Begin Predicting Direction Bears Will Head In

In his first mock draft of the year, ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has the Los Angeles Chargers selecting Alabama defensive tackle Da'Ron Payne with the No. 17 overall pick.

National Football League draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah, a former Browns scout, believes Allen has the highest ceiling of the 2018 quarterbacks, and believes the Giants should target him at No. 2, assuming the Browns draft Darnold.

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. doesn't seem to be too high on the best draft prospects LSU has to offer.

And if you don't feel like going through the paywall to find out who he had the Chicago Bears taking, let's just go ahead and spoil it here. And with Brandon Mebane getting long in the tooth and the Chargers struggling to stop the run previous year, Kiper believes the Chargers need some help up front defensively.

The 2018 NFL Draft is more than three months away, but that hasn't stopped fans from getting excited about the endless possibilities for their favorite team in Round 1. But with a struggling Dontae Johnson unsigned this year, it's likely general manager John Lynch will be looking for an upgrade.

"I don't think [Allen is] as polished as a passer as [Carson] Wentz was coming out", Jeremiah told NFL Network's Rich Eisen. He had 16 touchdowns and six interceptions playing in the Mountain West Conference.

James is tough to figure out, but Seattle would be thrilled to get him here.

Allen will play in the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, on January 27.

"Buffalo got a great rookie season out of first-round pick Tre'Davious White, but there's a hole on the other side because E.J. Gaines, who was part of the Sammy Watkins trade, is a free agent".
