Dark Souls Remastered has been announced for Nintendo Switch

Something to note here is that the decision to remaster/remake either Dark Souls 1 or Demon Souls, rests exclusively on their publishers, this has been confirmed by the game's director Hidetaka Miyazaki himself, the company's direct involvement in sort of remaster/remake lies entirely in the hands of their respective publishers, Bandai Namco Entertainment for Dark Souls and Sony Interactive for Demon Souls.

This rumor was flying around for awhile and now it is a reality.

Dark Souls isn't the only big reveal slated for today's rumoured Direct, but according to recent reports - the port is in good hands. Get ready to head back to the land of cursed undead, just make sure to keep that bonfire lit.

The port is developed by From Software and will be capable of running at upscaled 4K resolutions and at 60fps on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Dark Souls Remastered will be released for the Switch on May 15, and it will include the Artorias of the Abyss DLC from the original game.

On its press site, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Dark Souls Remastered for Switch will have a 720p resolution in portable mode, while in the docked mode it will run at 1080p.

From Software's massively popular spiritual successor to Demon's Souls made its debut back in 2011 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and now six years later it's resurfaced on what may be one the most unlikeliest consoles possible.

Dark Souls Remastered is scheduled to launch on May 25, giving everyone a chance to return to the lands of Lordran as the Chosen Undead.
