Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala's son Vikas Barala, who had been booked for stalking and attempting to abduct a woman, has been granted bail by Punjab and Haryana High Court.
A top BJP leader's son who was booked for stalking and attempting to abduct a Chandigarh-based woman a year ago was granted bail today.
Barala, son of Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala, and his friend Ashish Kumar are facing trial on charges of stalking and attempt to kidnap Kundu in Chandigarh on the intervening night of August 4 and 5, 2017.
While accepting his bail plea, Justice Lisa Gill warned Vikas not to try to influence the trial, going on in a Chandigarh court.

He said that the defence told the court that the accused would not influence anybody in the case.
The lower court in Chandigarh had rejected the bail application of Barala four times. "If the court is fine with granting him bail then I am also fine with it", Varnika said.
On 4 August 2017, when Kundu was returning home from work and at around 11.15 pm in Chandigarh, Barala, along with a friend, allegedly stalked her by chasing her vehicle.
According to a report inHindustan Times, call records proffered by Barala's lawyer showed Kundu wasn't in the city right before the incident on the intervening night of 4 August and 5 August a year ago. Both were booked under non-bailable offences, including Sections 365 (kidnapping or abduction with intent to confine person) and 511 (attempt to commit offence punishable with life imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
