"Regardless of how it turns out, January 13 rerun election will be a sweet relief for all informed people of Anambra Central who have been denied their voice in the senate for over two years and the accruing development to the constituency".

AFTER a protracted legal and political horse trading that lasted for over two years, the electorate in Anambra Central senatorial district would today elect a senator to represent the area.

He said: " I'm not participating in the said election which can be described as a charade.

The minister said he had, in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act, informed INEC of his withdrawal from the rerun election on the 13th of January, 2016 when the election was originally scheduled for March 2016.

"My party APC promptly wrote the commission of its intention to organise a primary election for my substitution".

INEC has however made a decision to conduct a rerun which it said was based on three subsisting judgement of court of Appeal directing it within 90 days to conduct a rerun poll for the senatorial district.
