SC head football coach Will Muschamp has had his contract extended by three years, a deal now running through the 2023 season, according to David Cloninger of The Post and Courier.
Marcus Lattimore is rejoining SC football.
Krantz has served in his current position for both of Muschamp's two years in Columbia after previously working with Muschamp and Travaris Robinson in the same role at Auburn in 2015.
"Kyle has been with me for the past five years and thinks like we do", said Coach Muschamp. "He has a coordinator's mentality and is an outstanding young coach". The Muschamp era in SC got off to a so-so start as the Gamecocks finished the season 6-7 overall, 3-5 in conference play and lost the Birmingham Bowl to a mid-major squad in the South Florida Bulls.
Krantz joined the Kentucky staff just prior to the start of the 2011 season, serving as a graduate assistant for the Wildcats.
Liam Neeson takes the fight to the rails in "The Commuter"
It may not be as smooth or devilishly clever as a Hitchcock movie, but The Commuter is still exhilarating all the same. Instead, it leans into his sixty-five years of experience, showing someone who is both skilled yet helpless.
As a freshman in 2010, he rushed for 1,197 yards and led the Gamecocks to their first SEC Eastern Division title and was named SEC Freshman of the Year. He returned for his junior year and had some promising performances before he suffered an even more disastrous injury to his other knee. No one will be able to relate to our players about dealing with success and facing diversity more than Marcus.
Lattimore spent three years with the Gamecocks as a running back, rushing for 2,677 yards and 38 touchdowns. "He will be a great addition to our program".
Though the San Francisco 49ers drafted Lattimore in the fourth round of the 2013 draft, he never appeared in a regular-season game.
SC defensive analyst Kyle Krantz has been promoted to fill the school's 10th on-field assistant coach position. He's now married to the former Miranda Bailey.
