'John Wick' TV Show 'The Continental' Could Feature Keanu Reeves [TCA 2018]

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Collins (Sons of Anarchy, Man in the High Castle) will write the pilot script, and continue as showrunner if Starz orders the project to series.

However, the show, entitled The Continental, does take place in the same universe as the John Wick movies.

John Wick and its sequel film have grossed almost $300 million at the worldwide box office and a successful virtual reality mobile game.

As expected, The Continental will be set in the same world as John Wick, and will revolve around that assassin hotel, which was one of the more interesting aspects of the film series.

Zuma Wants Dlamini-Zuma As Interim President If He Resigns
But news that Zuma's resignation was not even discussed at the NEC meeting resulted in a dip in the rand, Business Tech reported .

Coming Soon reports that Lionsgate and Starz have confirmed a TV spinoff based on the John Wick films is in the works.

Legendary assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) retired from his violent career after marrying the love of his life. The original film's creative team are on board the TV off-shoot, with Thunder Road Pictures' Basil Iwanyk - who produced the first two features and serves in the same capacity on the forthcoming third - leads an exec producing team that also includes Chad Stahelski (who directed the first two and is returning for the third), original franchise screenwriter Derek Kolstad and Collins, David Leitch (who co-directed the original) and Reeves.

Speaking to open the Starz panels at the Television Critics Assn. press tour on Friday, network Chief Executive Chris Albrecht said "The Continental" and the movies will exist side by side.

It's a ideal fit for Starz which, among its original programming line up, offers hits like Outlander and Black Sails and the upcoming spy series Counterpoint. Moreover, the show aims to include "thunderous fight sequences and intensely staged shootouts between professional assassins and their targets". No targeted premiere date's been announced yet, but you can bet your ass you'll know as soon as we do. I think the world is very vast, and everything I've heard from it is very positive. Meanwhile, Iosef's father (Michael Nyqvist) - John's former colleague - puts a huge bounty on John's head.
