Girl Scouts launch Cookies-4-Heroes program for Hurricane Harvey first responders

Cookie customers and the public can ask Girl Scouts for a secret code and enter it at a special link online for a chance to win the 2018 Girl Scout Cookie Car.

The winter season is about to become the Cookie Season, as the Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska prepares kick off their 2018 Cookie Program next month. You won't be able to buy the cookies outside of your local grocery store or online; that won't happen until February 23. Anybody can order cookies anytime they want clear up through March 17. Whether it's a trip she'll never forget, a service project that will change her community forever, or the opportunity to build a lifetime of memories at camp, Girl Scout Cookies help make it all happen! Some of the money the council gets from the cookies is for camps and programming or financial assistance and things like that.

During Girl Scout Cookie season, each G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) sets out to sell delicious cookies while also building entrepreneurial and business skills imperative for leadership and future success.

This year, the Scouts will also be collecting donations used to donate boxes of cookies to give to military members.

Marianne Addy of the Girl Scouts Louisiana East said in a press release, the council will offer nine cookie varieties, Shortbread, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Caramel deLites, gluten free Trios, Thin Mint, Peanut Butter Patties, Lemonades, Thanks-a-lot and Girl Scout S'mores.
