The watch is in effect for Richland, Ashland, Crawford, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Lake, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Summit, Stark, Trumbull and Wayne counties.
Locally 2 to 4 inches of snow is possible for the Ohio Valley with a glaze of ice possible as well. About 3 to 4 inches is expected for the Elizabethtown area and up to a quarter inch of ice. "Temperatures will plummet overnight into Thursday, and gusty northwest winds will accompany the influx of cold air". As the Arctic cold air plows in, precipitation has changed quickly from rain to a brief period of freezing rain or sleet, then snow from western Wisconsin to southern Kansas.
Friday evening into Saturday, snow will begin to accumulate.
