Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo lead the 2017 UEFA Fans' Team of the Year, but Neymar has been left out for the second time in succession.

Over 8.7 million of votes have been cast to decide UEFA's annual Team of the Year and the results have already caused huge debate among football fans. The voting floodgates were then opened.

The most popular formation for voters was 4-4-2 with 459,797 selections in this line-up.

In midfield, Kevin De Bruyne received the most votes with 52.2%, accompanied by Real duo Luka Modric, who got 48.5%, and Toni Kroos with 43.3%.
