Under the new Rs. 399 pack, Airtel is offering 1GB 3G/ 4G data per day, unlimited voice calls - local, STD, and roaming, and 100 SMSes per day for all handsets. Further, Jio also offers unlimited voice calls on all networks in India, 100 SMSs daily, and free subscription to Jio apps. The 449 prepaid plan of Jio now offers 91GB data with a validity of 91 days.
The revised BSNL packs of Rs. 186, Rs. 187, Rs. 349, and Rs. 429 now offer 1GB of data per day for 28 days, 28 days, 54 days, and 81 days, respectively. The two Vodafone recharge packs also offer 1GB data per day, and are better positioned to take on the revised Jio plans with the extra data and validity.
Vodafone offers 1GB 4G/3G data per day at Rs 509.

The broader NSE index was up 0.27 percent at 10,679.55 as of 0630 GMT, after rising as much as 0.37 percent to a record 10,690.25. The benchmark BSE Sensex rallied by 134.93 points, or 0.39 percent to hit yet another record high of 34,638.42 in opening trade.
Earlier this month, BSNL launched its promotional offer to to its new GSM mobile service subscribers. The plan also offers 100 SMS per day.
Trai data showed the total base of phone subscribers fell to 1,185.88 million in end-November from 1,201.72 million in end-October, reflecting a 1.32% dip.
Trai's subscriber data showed Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea also registered gains in market share to 24.91%, 18.15% and 16.69% from 24.21%, 17.68% band 16.20% in October respectively. Under the plan, a customer will get talk time of Rs 103 with calls to other BSNL numbers at 0.15 per minute and calls to other networks at 0.40 per minute along with a personal ring back tone for 28 days. Interestingly, in Odisha, Rajasthan and Haryana circles, both the Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 plans offer validity of 84 days, which essentially leaves the latter redundant. Jio offers the highest amount data of all three. For example, the Rs. 349 pack gives helps prepaid users with 2GB data daily, unlimited local, STD and roaming calls with 100 SMS per day. Airtel announced a Rs. 199 prepaid pack to compete with Jio's Rs. 199 pack.
