Ford is latest to be sued over Diesel Truck Emissions

The global retaliation for the use of so-called "cheat devices" started with Volkswagen in 2015, and since then, at least another four automakers - including Ford - have been accused in the USA of using similar tricks to pass emissions testing, while emitting pollutants in quantities that are many times what is legally allowed.

With an estimated 916kg payload and 5170kg towing capacity, the F-150 Power Stroke offers best-in-class capability.

The suit comes just days after Ford announced details for its upcoming F-150 diesel and is the latest in a string of accusations following VW's massive diesel emissions scandal in late 2015.

The new Power Stroke diesel 3.0L V-6 will be available on several trim levels, including the SuperCab with 6.5-foot bed shown here. That 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine in the F-Series Super Duty trucks has been a market victor for the company; and there's been talk of a diesel in the lighter truck class for some time.

At 250hp, it's 4% more powerful than the Ram (240hp) and has 4% more torque (440 lb-ft for the F-150 vs. 420 lb-ft for the Ram). It says the diesel is targeted at customers who tow or haul big loads and want better fuel economy.

The hotel was bought in 1979 by Mohamed Al-Fayed, whose son Dodi was also killed in the fatal crash. French police said the stolen goods, thought to be jewels, amount to "an important sum".

A law firm that has carved out a reputation for aggressively pursuing automakers over diesel emissions has found a new target: Ford's heavy-duty pickups.

Ford's Dagenham Engine Plant, the company's largest diesel engine production facility globally, employs 3,000 people and a year ago produced 800,000 engines for the United Kingdom and export to markets globally. A premium mechanical engine-driven fan and dual radiator shutters arrangement offers improved high temperature, high-altitude performance - a key advantage versus the electric cooling fans used by competitors.

Ford's new 10-speed automatic is standard and features a Power Stroke diesel specific calibration while Ford's Auto Start-Stop is standard.
