Within 10 months, 4.8 million Switch units were sold compared to the 4 million moved by the Wii.

It's official - Nintendo has hit the jackpot, with recent reports revealing the company's Switch is the fastest selling video gaming console in U.S. history.

The game lineup for the forthcoming year will be a big determining factor in terms of figuring out what kind of pace is maintained with continued console sales after the initial thrill of the Switch dies down a little. The Switch officially hit the markets on March 3rd, 2017 hit the ground running but it was this past holiday season that put the console over the top.

This is when the final season of Game of Thrones' will air
Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnikm, with the writers on board for the new season including David Benioff & D.B. Martin a window to release his long-awaited novel The Winds of Winter from his Fire and Blood series.

Critics and fans have taken to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey while oddball sports game "Arms" has been welcomed as an innovative essential just as Splatoon was on the Wii U. This is notably more than the preceding record holder, the Wii, which racked up 4 million in the same period. "Now that many more people have received Nintendo Switch systems for the holidays, we look forward to bringing them fun new surprises in 2018 and beyond".

The Switch was already pronounced Japan's fastest-selling console of all time, surpassing the PlayStation 2's ten-month sales of 3 million units, when December's remarkably strong 844,000 tally contributed to a lifetime total of 3.2m sales. That device was nothing but pure struggle by the way.
