Nintendo dropped a bomb shell tonight at The Game Awards, releasing a new trailer for The Champions' Ballad and announcing that the DLC pack is available tonight. The trailer showed the champions and Link in combat, plus additional story elements. The Champions' Ballad is only available through the game's expansion pass, which will set you back $20, but that also includes the first DLC pack, The Master Trials.
Well, given Nintendo has been rather evasive about what this second DLC pack actually contains, let's dig into what this new pack, dubbed The Champions' Ballad, gets you.
Bayonetta 3 In Development For Switch: 1
The game's mere existence was a surprise, so the release date being just a couple of months away was the icing on the cake. Meanwhile, the first Bayonetta and its sequel will launch simultaneously for the console on February 26, 2018.
But, what we weren't expecting was the Master Cycle Zero, a Divine Beast that Link can ride around Hyrule. The Champions' Ballad isn't just still coming in 2017 as promised; It's out today. Without a Guardian, Link is at a sore disadvantage, but hell he's got this sick new motorbike so who the hell cares. The game also took home awards for Best Direction and Best Acton Adventure game. Daruk, Mipha, Urbosa, and Revali are all shown in combat in real-time; whether or not this was in the past or not is unknown.
