'Games of Thrones' not returning until 2019, Sophie Turner says

Game of Thrones Season 7 will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting December 12th. In an interview with Variety, Sophie Turner revealed "Game of Thrones"' final season may not drop until 2019. HBO has yet to confirm a date for their tentpole series' return, so Turner's statement will surely please fans who have been desperate for information about their favorite show.

The final season is already two months into shooting, and Turner said the cast and crew are well aware of the impending end of the series. And without Littlefinger (Petyr Baelish, played by actor Aidan Gillen), it's a test for her of whether she can get through it.

Although many Game of Thrones fans were more than happy to see Littlefinger meet his end in the season eight finale, it seems that Sansa Stark may struggle to come to terms with the loss of her longtime guardian. "This season is more a passionate fight for her than a political, manipulative kind of fight".

When asked about her big year ahead, Turner slipped and said, "Yeah, I'm really excited".

According to Jason Momoa, who recently visited the show's Belfast set, the final season will be "the greatest thing that's ever aired on TV".

She also said how nearly the whole cast was present during the season 8 read-through and it turned really emotional for all of them.

The eighth season of GoT will feature only six episodes, but they are expected to be super-sized, and may each be the length of a feature film. "We started in October, so we're maybe like a tenth of the way through", Turner told Variety.

Teasing the end, the Sansa actress continued, "Every single cast member was pretty much there".

"We're all staying in town a little longer, going out for more meals, trying to get together more".

"Game of Thrones" season seven launches December 12 on Blu-ray and DVD, but it's available now for preorder onAmazon.
