Dead & Company show in Orlando postponed after John Mayer hospitalized

The 40-year-old had performed with the Dead & Company as recently as Sunday.

John is in "good spirits" following the surgery, according to a spokesperson.

After statements from various representatives and elsewhere, John Mayer finally resurfaced on Twitter following his emergency appendectomy with a tweet thanking those who wished him well. Today, D&C announced the final two shows of tour have also been postponed while Mayer recooperates. As such, the band's Tuesday night concert at New Orleans' Smoothie King Center was postponed. "John wants to reschedule for a new date as soon as possible, and we'll let you know as soon as the new date is confirmed".

The concerts scheduled for New Orleans on Dec. 5, Orlando on Dec. 7 and Sunrise on Dec. 8 are all postponed. The group features Mayer alongside original Grateful Dead members Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, as well as Allman Brothers' bassist Oteil Burbridge and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. Ticketholders can get refunds at the point of purchase.

The sextet was formed in 2015 and embarked on their inaugural tour that fall.
