Lalu attacks Nitish on disqualification of Sharad, Anwar

The two top JD (U) leaders parted ways recently after Kumar made a decision to align the party with the BJP in Bihar, against Yadav's wishes.

Earlier in the day, Sharad Yadav left for Gujarat to campaign for the party in the assembly election there for his party candidates who are contsting on the symbol of Bharatiya Rashtriya Tribal Party on seven out of 182 seats.

Maharashtra chief of Janata Dal (United) Kapil Patil has criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over Sharad Yadav's disqualification from Rajya Sabha. Similar cases are pending in Lok Sabha for over a year.

Citing paragraph 2 (1)(a) of the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution of India, Naidu said that Yadav and Anwar 'have thus ceased to be members of the Rajya Sabha with immediate effect'.

Yadav had also questioned his removal as Leader of JD (U) in Rajya Sabha and the legal and moral authority of K.C. Tyagi, Secretary-General of JD (U) to issue him a directive not to attend the rally called by RJD.

Prediction: Liverpool vs Spartak Moscow
Spartak have reached the knockout stages of the Champions League only once in their 11 previous appearances - in 1995-96. The Reds are unbeaten in their last seven Champions League games - although five of those have ended with draws.

Yadav claimed that the JDU has always been functioning in an undemocratic fashion and his exclusion from the Rajya Sabha is because he questioned the party's wrong working pattern.

The JDU members had in August made a decision to strike off Yadav's name from the MPs list in Rajya Sabha, after Yadav was noted for criticising the party and its cadres, the Times of India reported.

"The decision will set an example for people like Sharad Yadav and Ali Anwar to not take steps against majority decisions in the party", he said.

However, after allegations of corruption were raised against Lalu Prasad's son and Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi in August this year, Nitish had stunned and political observers and his party colleagues like Sharad Yadav by first announcing that he was resigning as chief minister and then - within 24 hours - returning to office with the BJP as part of his new ruling coalition.
