John Travolta film cancelled a week before release

John Travolta's Gotti biopic, which was filmed all around Greater Cincinnati this summer, has been sold back to its production company just 10 days before its scheduled December 15 release.

Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films bought back the rights to Gotti, having produced it with Highland Film Group and Fiore Films. Gotti was not set to receive a wide release under Lionsgate, which was intending to put the film out via its Lionsgate Premiere label, which handles limited theatrical and day and date with VOD releases.

Entertainment company Lionsgate parted ways with the production about the American gangster.

Lionsgate have pulled the plug on their upcoming John Gotti biopic starring John Travolta. "Gotti" also stars Travolta's wife Kelly Prestor, their daughter Ella Bleu Travolta, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Stacy Keach, Chris Mulkey, Lydia Hull and Spencer Lofranco.
