Atiku visits PDP headquarters, vows to woo former members


Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has asked former leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to return and facilitate the efforts to rebuild the party and ensure that it recaptures the presidency in 2019.

He said Atiku has opened the gate for more high profile politicians to return to the PDP.

Addressing the former chairmen and councillors of Local Government Areas, Oyegun said, nobody should be tired over the exit of Atiku from APC. And I hope we all must have learned our lessons.

The APC Na non-existence, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun who made the statement at the National Headquarters of APC in Abuja, while addressing party supporters, said Atiku ought to have shown his strength the day he left APC.

"Even if some of us are deserting the Waziri now, due to the pressure of office, definitely, you don't expect his own daughter, Dr. Fatima, to desert him and remember, Waziri funded the campaign of this party in 2015, his funds brought this government to power", said the Commissioner of Land and Survey. "Because we still remain the only true democratic party in the true sense of the word".

"Mr Chairman, I want to congratulate you for a wonderful work which you have been doing to redeem the image of this party, to redeem it, rebrand it and return it to its original form". You stand and when they look at your right and left they will say that this man has done something great.

The stock increased 0.33% or $0.0486 during the last trading session, reaching $14.9286. (NASDAQ: AMZN ) for 10.71 million shares. Following the transaction, the director now owns 17,114 shares of the company's stock, valued at approximately $20,583,692.36.

Welcoming Abubakar back to the PDP, Makarfi said he had returned in good time, adding that PDP would continue to consult with him. So don't ever be afraid that there is going to be any massive defection.

"We thank you for coming before the convention so that you can contribute to what we have started going forward".

According to the statement, the APC National Chairman spoke during his investiture as the National Life Grand Patron of the Association of Former Chairmen, Councillors and Ward Leaders in Nigeria at the party's National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday evening.

"We are not just targeting Aso Rock, we are targeting the federal legislature, the states, both the executive and the legislature".

He added said that though the country might have its challenges, it was making steady progress and the APC was growing daily. "As a united party we have the capacity and we have the ability to do so".
