Xiaomi launches "Made in India" Powerbanks


The 10,000 mAh Mi Power Bank 2i and 20,000 mAh Mi Power Bank 2i will be made at the facility, he added.

When it came to release their newest iteration of the very popular power bank they chose to double down on their promises.

A couple of days ago, the Xiaomi India head had shared a quick teaser hinting at something the company will be launching soon, and that it will have an India context.

Xiaomi has two other facilities in Andhra Pradesh for making smartphones in partnership with Foxconn.

Both the power banks will be manufactured in India and the brand has also opened its third manufacturing unit in Noida. And now, Xiaomi has eyed the power bank segment. The facility is located in Gurugram and is spread over 2.3lakh square feet.

The 10000 mAh MI Power Bank 2i costs Rs. 799 and 20000 mAh Mi Power Bank 2i costs Rs. 1499.

The 10000mAh Power Bank 2i also has the aluminium built like the 10000mAh Power Bank 2, while the 20000mAh variant comes with a polycarbonate body.

There is nothing special about the product, it is just a slightly refined version of the company's previous generation of power banks.

These new power banks those are made in India have 10000mAh and 20000mAh battery capacities. The 10,000 mAh Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2i is just 14.2mm thick. The 20,000 mAh Mi Power Bank 2i is estimated at Rs 1,499 and this one also has support for Quick 3.0.

5 volts and 2 amps, or 9 volts and 2 amps, or 12.5 volts and 1.5 amps of an output voltage, depending on the charging device with fast charging capability. The power banks also come loaded with nine layers of circuit chip protection including temperature resistance, protection from short circuit, protection from incorrect insertion, input overvoltage protection, protection from output overcurrent, PTC protective circuits and more. They will be called, respectively, the 10000mAh and the 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i, the regular version of which was first announced in June. The Mi Power Bank 2i will go on sale tomorrow at 12noon on the Mi website.
