Rose McGowan arrested for drug possession after turning herself into cops

Rose McGowan was released from custody Tuesday after turning herself in for a drug possession charge.

- Actress Rose McGowan has turned herself to authorities in Virginia after an arrest warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance was issued earlier this year.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said McGowan left personal belongings on United flight 653 after arriving at Dulles on January 20. Police say they had attempted to contact McGowan so she can appear in a Loudoun County, Virginia, court. She was subsequently released on $5,000 unsecured bond, police officials said.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority also told ET in a statement that the felony charge against McGowan stems from the actress allegedly leaving personal belongings behind on a flight, which allegedly tested positive for narcotics. "What a load of HORSESHIT".

He faces police investigations in Los Angeles, New York and London and has been sacked from The Weinstein Company, the studio he co-founded with his brother.

McGowan has become one of the leading voices against sexual assault and harassment in Hollywood in recent months.

Ms McGowan reportedly reached a settlement with Weinstein after a hotel room encounter during the Sundance Film Festival.
