Panthers rookie Curtis Samuel (ankle) out for season

Head coach Ron Rivera said things weren't very optimistic about Samuel's ankle before an MRI Tuesday afternoon.

Prior to the injury, Samuel caught 15 passes for 115 yards over nine games.

Panthers offensive coordinator Mike Shula said the team would use a committee approach to replace Samuel.

The Panthers have only four other receivers on their active roster - Devin Funchess, Russell Shepard, Kaelin Clay and Brenton Bersin - but Damiere Boyd is eligible to come off injured reserve for the team's game against the Saints on December 3. Is there anybody as fast as him? ". We're going to try hard to find ways to put guys in what they do best and then have them go do it". He should be ready for the November 26 game against the New York Jets. His left foot was rolled over by a defender after he dropped what should have been an easy touchdown catch.

The worst damage appeared to be in the Kurdish town of Sarpol-e-Zahab in the western Iranian province of Kermanshah. The headline of a state newspaper read "Iran cries with Kermanshah", referring to the Kurdish-majority province.

This is going to be a big loss for the Panthers offense as they hoped Samuel could bring an element of speed that had been missing from this group for most of the season.

As a junior at Ohio State in 2016, Samuel was used as the Buckeyes' H-Back. "That's another thing we would look at".

The Carolina Panthers should feel good entering their bye week after their best performance of the season, a 45-21 victory over the Miami Dolphins, and a 7-3 record. "It was guys coming in and doing their job and knowing their assignments".
