"Bellator is pleased to announce that it has reached a multi-fight, multi-year deal with Jake Hager, who was formerly known as "Jack Swagger" during his almost nine-year run with WWE".

Before spending a decade with WWE, Hager was an All-American wrestler at the University of Oklahoma. He's getting a late start in the fighting game at age 35, but I am genuinely looking forward to seeing how he does. He finished seventh overall in the NCAA wrestling championships and set Oklahoma's record for most pins in a season (30).

In 2008 he won the ECW Championship, while he became World Heavyweight Champion a year later.

Swagger made the announcement today on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani and said he's excited because stepping into the cage for mixed martial arts is something he's always wanted to do.
