Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones out for a month, report claims

The Green Bay Packers could be without rookie running back Aaron Jones for a month or more.

According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jones will be out 3-6 weeks with an MCL injury. Jones was hurt on the opening drive against the Bears when his right knee appeared to get caught underneath him as he was tackled by linebacker Sam Acho.

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (33) is carted off the field with an apparent injury during the first quarter against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. He'll be expected to be the lead back if Montgomery can't go on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Montgomery is the team's second-leading rusher with 273 yards on 71 carries (3.8-yard average). The good news, however, is that Aaron Jones' knee injury is less serious than many initially feared. Jones' teammate Ty Montgomery was also injured against the Bears which opened up the door for Jamaal Williams. "I would think he has a chance this week", McCarthy said.

The rookie out of UTEP was the Packers leading rusher this season, with 370 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 70 carries. This is his first notable ailment since joining the Packers.
