2 militants killed in Handwara encounter


Two militants, who attacked a police party, were killed in exchange of fire in north kashmir's Handwara area on Monday evening.

Jeelani said identity of the slain militants and the outfit to which they owe allegiance was being ascertained.

"Two terrorists neutralized in Zachaldara Handwara in North Kashmir in a joint operation of @JmuKmrPolice, Army and @crpfindia. So far, there has been no confirmation about the presence of militants", the police added. Meanwhile, a search operation has been launched in the area. The security personnel retaliated, resulting in the encounter in which two militants were killed.

Supreme Court Takes On Case About Free Speech and Abortion

Additional security forces were rushed to cordon the area to foil any attempt by militants to escape.

Four of his family members including father, two brothers and an aunt were also injured in the attack. They caution him against acting as an "informer" of police and working for mainstream parties.
