Another Pixel 2 XL problem, this one with touch panel edge response

Now there's a new bug to add to the list: unresponsive spots near the edge of the screen.

There have been multiple bugs reports in Google's PIxel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices since their launch.

As per a Pixel User Community post, some Pixel 2 XL owners have been noticing dead spots close to the bezels, specifically on the right-hand edge of the screen. Now, multiple users have experienced trouble in operating the Google Assistant via Bluetooth headphones in Pixel 2 devices, however, Pixel 2 XL customers have reported unresponsive touch near the edges of the display.

Google has started shipping the initial batch of Pixel Buds which is the company's maiden attempt at making wireless headphones. One owner who goes by the name "Deathsoldier11 " on the community even went ahead and conducted a test and found out that while the edged on his phone's display recognized swipes, they were not responsive to taps. If the problem does lie with the hardware itself, then it would a much bigger headache for both Google and the consumers.

The lack of response from tapping the screen edges is just one of the many issues that appeared upon the release of Google Pixel 2 XL.

He also thinks that the fault lies with Google's accidental touch protection software. Nevertheless, it is comforting to know that Google will fix the problem in the future. Earlier, Google has addressed the audio recording issue where high-pitch sounds can be heard in the sound files.
