The story picks up with the reunion of six estranged family members as they work together to solve their father's mysterious death while coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities.

Way's series is set in an alternate timeline where JFK was never assassinated, and a group of super-powered misfits are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves (a/k/a The Monocle), an extraterrestrial in disguise who raises and trains the crew to become a team of dysfunctional superheroes.

Her siblings, Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus and Number Five, have not been cast yet.

Netflix just bagged a major star for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Umbrella Academy.

Big Little Lies Season TWO Is On Its Way!
Wild and Dallas Buyers Club filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée directed every episode of the first season while David E. And THR reports that all that stands in the way of a Season 2 renewal is to find a new director for the series.

Steve Blackman (Fargo, Netflix's Altered Carbon) will serve as executive producer and showrunner, with Bluegrass Television and Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg from Dark Horse Entertainment also executive producing.

Gerard Way, creator and writer of "The Umbrella Academy" and executive producer on the Netflix adaptation, added, "I couldn't think of a better place for the vision [illustrator] Gabriel Bá and myself had when creating the comic, and cannot wait for people to experience that world as a live action show". These aren't the usual superheroes, and this series will embrace the singular tone of the graphic novels - dark yet humorous, supernatural yet grounded in reality. Page previously played Kitty Pryde in two of the X-Men movies, but her part in this series will be much bigger.
