Watch the Video for MGMT's New Single, 'Little Dark Age'

MGMT's new album Little Dark Age is on the way, and the band just released a new music video for their title track, as mentioned by outcome of Sound. That was followed nine months later with news that the album had been pushed back to 2017. "Little Dark Age" embraces pop flourishes during the chorus, where VanWyngarden sings, "If you get out of bed/ And find me standing all alone/ Open-eyed/ Burn the page/ My little dark age". The track is accompanied by a shadowy, cinematic music video featuring sinister and surreal vignettes of members Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser dressed in flamboyant gothic attire, stalked by the figure of Death. The day after the snippet appeared, they tweeted out the song's lyrics.

MGMT's new album was produced by the band along with Patrick Wimberly (Chairlift, Kelea, Blood Orange) and longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Spoon, Tame Impala).

Inflation jumps to five-year high, boosting chances of interest rate hike
The Consumer Price Index, including owner-occupiers' housing costs (CPIH), was 2.8% in September, up from 2.7% in August. On an annual basis, prices rose by 3% last month, the highest since October 2013 when they climbed by 3.9%.

The offbeat, synthy song is a good indication of what to expect from the album, which is due for release early next year.

MGMT only have one date left on their calendar for 2017.
