The South West All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it won't be granting President Muammadu Buhari automatic ticket in the 2019 election.
"We tried to review our position and we are poised to see, as a party, what we will be able to do to have Ekiti State back".
In a related development, NAIJ.com previously reported that Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna central constituency hinted that the recent moves by his party, the APC, at restructuring Nigeria, might be fake.
"It is important to tell our people what we have achieved as we approach the third year, let me say that this is a family meeting".
"Restructuring is not our language, go and ask those who are advocating restructuring to define it".
Akande told newsmen that restructuring was not the language of the APC, adding that it was not in its constitution or manifesto.
He said the meeting had after assessing the performance of APC governors, ministers and other political office holders from the zone scored them high. He said the party only stands for devolution of functions of the Federal Government to the state and local governments.
But Tinubu's media aide, Tunde Rahman, later held a media parley with journalists and allayed fears over the health of his boss, stressing that "he considered it wise to stay back in Lagos to attend to the ache and he is part and parcel of the decisions going on at the meeting".

"Similarly, it is to reconnect to the ideals that are germane to the progress of our people and by extension, to the growth and development of Nigeria". "The attendance of our leaders affirmed the seriousness of our leaders in the development of our region". We must be ready and prepared to sacrifice our self interests and ambitions for the common goals and speak with one voice at all times as we confront the developmental challenges facing the South-West region and our people. "Restructuring is not in our manifesto, but we want states to be in position to explore their comparative advantages". If he is lucky to have the ticket, then we will have no reason than to support the President.
