4-H center director arrested on child pornography charge

A Maryland man was arrested Friday after authorities found child pornography files on his cellphone, Maryland State Police said.

Officers found one of the uploaded images on a hard drive during a September 15 search of the center.

- A prominent member of the Lumpkin County community is front and center of a police investigation.

According to Sheriff Jarrard, Williams has been the 4-H director for almost 20 years.

The 4-H camp is a mentoring extension program of the University of Georgia.

The search warrant came after an investigation led to the address.

As more information is received about the status of negotiations, Niagara College will be updating its Strike Information page . Among the key bargaining issues for the union are the growing number of non-full-time contract faculty and academic freedom.

"There we found external hard drives which housed thousands of photos", Sheriff Jarrard said.

Williams is out on bond awaiting trial.

Some residents said the allegations are especially troubling, giving Williams responsibilities.

The suspect is charged with possession of child pornography and making child pornography available.

4-H is described as a global network of youth organizations whose mission is "engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development".
