Carmelo Anthony calls Jordan Brand report 'false news'

The Jordan Melo line dropped a total of 13 different Carmelo Anthony signature sneakers, but according to ESPN's Nick DePaula, Jordan Brand will not be making a Jordan Melo 14 anytime soon.

DePaula reports that industry sources say Jordan plans to make last year's Melo M13 the final shoe in the line and that the former SU superstar will wear several different Jordan Brand sneakers this season.

That means he will continue to be one of the top featured athletes endorsing the brand while the company looks to revamp its signature shoe lines, although the details of what's in the works remain unknown.

When asked about the rumor, Anthony said he "just signed an extension" with the shoe company and doesn't buy into any false news.

Paul Scholes holds talks over Oldham Athletic manager's job
He won 11 Premier League titles at Old Trafford and was capped 66 times by England before announcing his retirement in 2004. Oldham have interviewed Manchester United great Paul Scholes for their vacant manager's position, according to Sky sources.

Additionally, Jordan Brand released the following statement regarding their partnership with Melo, stating "no decision have been finalized about future models".

"Melo is a long-time and respected member of the Jordan family". He continued his relationship with the Jumpman during his only, and national championship-winning, season with Syracuse in 2003, before eventually signing with Jordan Brand prior to his rookie season.

Anthony still has a deal with Jordan Brand, and it's unclear how this new arrangement affects his income.
