Florida man suffers burns putting on flaming jersey

The poor decision came about after Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers led his team on a last-minute comeback to beat Dallas 35-31.

Timothy Salyers, 27, and Brianna Hook, 22, both of Indian River County, were at home watching the Green Bay Packers play the Dallas Cowboys and made a bet that the fan of the winning team would get to burn the losing fan's jersey, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.

TC Palm said the sheriff's report described third-degree burns on Salyers right arm and hand and second-degree back burns.

At the hospital, deputies spoke with a couple who admitted they were watching the National Football League game and agreed to burn the losing team's jersey.

A witness told Sebastian Daily, "He was set on fire after losing a bet on the Cowboys game ..." What the wife didn't see coming was that her husband would try to put the flaming jersey back on while it was still on fire.

Silyers told a deputy he grabbed the jersey with his right arm and attempted to put it on while it was on fire.

Was this a very stupid thing to do?

A Florida man was burned more ways than one on Sunday.

When his wife's team, the Packers, won the game, the man went outside and lit his jersey on fire. There are plenty of people who make bold bets and refuse to follow through when the result doesn't go their way, but not this guy. That's loyalty if I've ever seen it.
