Man City to offer Raheem Sterling, cash for Alexis Sanchez

Per Ornstein's report, Arsenal would require not only a significant amount of money but a player as well in order to complete a deal for Sanchez. However, he has yet to come to terms for a new contract and his current contract ends next summer. They haven't been bold in their transfer business and signing Naby Keita for next summer, even in a club record deal, isn't going to do it.

Sterling has made a bright start to the league campaign with two goals in three games, but he could potentially push for a move as Sanchez's arrival could hamper his chances of regular game time.

While it's hard to say whether Sanchez will still be an Arsenal player on September 1st, what we can guarantee is that this is not the last we will hear of this saga before the window closes on Thursday.

Manchester City have put in a straight cash bid for Alexis Sanchez, but Arsenal appear less than impressed, it has been claimed.

Sources said Arsenal are pushing for a player to be involved, and that Sterling would consider a move to London if he was deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium.

Sanchez has previously worked with Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, and the Spanish manager is keen to reunite with him as the player has grown to become one of the Premier League's top talents in recent seasons, scoring 23 goals last campaign.

Sri Lankan cricket selectors resign
They are eighth in the 50 and 20-over formats, in both of which they have won World Cups. Sri Lanka will take on India in the fourth ODI on August 31, in Colombo .

The Chilean made his first appearance of the season in Arsenal's 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday, coming off for Alexandre Lacazette after 62 minutes. Arsenal, Arsene Wenger that is, is looking for something in return.

The Frenchman only signed a new two-year deal in May but former Gunners favourite Ian Wright believes it is time for the 67-year-old to say enough is enough.

He had attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer but the French club have instead signed Neymar for a world-record fee and are closing in on a deal for Kylian Mbappe.

Manchester City have been keeping an eye on the developments of the situation, and are known admirers of Sanchez.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had said few weeks ago that Sanchez would "respect" his decision and stay.

Alexis is in that mode and I think he will be until the last day he is here, he will give his best.
