Keith Ellison says Donald Trump acting more dangerously than North Korean leader

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), deputy chairman of the Democratic National Convention, claimed Friday that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un is more responsible than President Donald Trump.

Immediately after making the comment, Ellison regretted it and tried to retract his words. "And I think it's something that has been tested in recent-enough memory that Kim Jong Un realizes that we have a capacity".

"The time for cranking up the anti-war machine is right now", he said.

"North Korea is a serious thing", Ellison told attendees at the NetrootsNation conference.

He went on to urge the crowd that if they "don't want to get caught, deer-in-the-headlights", when missiles start flying that they should "call in North Korea immediately".

He said: "I am concerned by reports that detainees are not receiving due legal process and are being held in inhumane conditions". "It's tailor-made for somebody to misuse. Well, he's acting more responsible than this guy".

"And what I would like to see is negotiations and bring the parties together we need to bring North Korea, South Korea, America, Russia, Japan and China together to talk about how we can actually live in harmony together". "And they extend to where China understands that doing business with the United States means that they shouldn't be doing business with North Korea - that obviously is a big blow to Kim Jong Un's regime because China is really their economic lifeline". Democrats appear to be playing a risky game of using the threat of nuclear war as a way to tear down Trump. Michael Ahrens, the RNC's rapid-response director, sent the video of Ellison's comment to reporters, calling it "insane" and and challenging Democrats to respond.
