Lorde has sent her honest apologies to fans after severe weather led to her set at the Lollapalooza festival being cancelled.

Lollapalooza headliners Lorde and Muse were just a few songs into their respective sets when organizers chose to pull the plug on the entire festival this evening.

Fans on-site report she was only 20 minutes into her gig when the powers that be told her to call it a night, and footage from the crowd shows the performer visibly distressed at the entire situation. "I'm sorry I love you I'll be back".

Lollapalooza resumes tomorrow and there's no rain in the forecast.

Gallagher left the stage just four songs into what was supposed to be a one-hour set.
