Retracted CNN story a boon for president at war with media

Three CNN journalists have resigned after the United States news network was forced to retract a story.

"The story charged that the Senate Intelligence committee was interested in a "$10-billion Russian investment fund whose chief executive met with a member of President Donald Trump's transition team four days before Trump's inauguration", per the New York Post. "CNN does have some phony stories", Colbert said after reading the latest fake news claims from POTUS.

All three of the CNN journalists who left are respected veterans with decades of cumulative experience. Overnight, "Project Veritas" released undercover video of CNN producer John Bonifield admitting that the president is right to say the network is on a "witchhunt".

Scaramucci, who founded hedge fund specialist SkyBridge Capital, served on Trump's transition team.

Three journalists of CNN, an American news channel, have resigned, including the head of the investigative unit, after writing a story about members of President Donald Trump's electoral campaign having financial ties with Russian Federation.

CNN's reply: "CNN just posted it's most-watched second quarter in history".

In an editor's note published early Saturday, the network said: "That story did not meet CNN's editorial standards and has been retracted".

He also supported his claims by posting a picture from the video purportedly showing her riding the scooter without helmet. The complainant was asked to specify the time, date and exact place for immediate action to be taken.

Journalist Thomas Frank, who was the author of the story in question, was joined by investigative reporters Eric Lictblau and Lex Harris in handing in their resignations.

But several network officials were caught off-guard when the story appeared online, the people said, signaling that it had not received the proper approvals. And the president did not miss the opportunity that CNN's most recent misfire offered, tweeting frequently throughout the morning on Tuesday. She called stories about Russian Federation and Trump "a hoax" that is distracting from other news.

Scaramucci accepted the network's apology, but deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders pounced.

The resignations are a sign of the stakes for CNN.

Haris, in a statement to CNN's "Reliable Sources", noted that he'd been with CNN since 2001, "and am sure about one thing: This is a news organization that prizes accuracy and fairness above all else".

The video, posted by James O'Keefe's Project Veritas, had Bonifield talking with an unidentified person while sitting at a table behind a drink and later in an elevator. "They are all Fake News!"

One social media exchange about the CNN story indicated how feelings about the network were running strong among Trump supporters.
