"We declare that in case the U.S. and the South Korean puppet forces again attempt at disgusting state-sponsored terrorism targeting the supreme leadership. we will impose summary punishment without advance notice", said the KCNA. It said the plan was automatically scrapped when lawmakers impeached Park last December over a corruption scandal. Moon, a liberal who took office in May, has expressed a desire to reach out to North Korea, but its continuing missile tests pose a hard challenge for him. This impression is only compounded by the fact that Moon is doing very little that would give North Korea any reason to change its belligerent stance in the first place. The United States has demanded that Beijing crack down on Chinese banks and companies that do business with North Korea.

North Korea is also importing 50,000-100,000 tons of gasoline by tankers from China.

North Korea's unprecedented pace of nuclear and ballistic missile tests has prompted China, which handles 90 per cent of North Korea's trade, to start squeezing Pyongyang.

The White House clearly wants the same.

Facing police obstruction, the conservative activists demanded the "right of way quickly", citing the law.

Moon's past close association with Roh Moo-hyun, the South Korea's leader who pursued a "sunshine" policy of diplomatic and economic outreach toward the North a decade ago, raises the possibilities of fresh U.S.

On Friday, Moon is scheduled to lay floral tributes at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington together with U.S. Vice President Mike Pence.

The memorial commemorates a fearless rearguard action by Marines during that bitter winter as Chinese troops advanced. At the same time, they need to reinforce the strong South Korea-U.S. alliance and build mutual trust and rapport. Moon was born in South Korea, three years later.

Pyongyang wants to take revenge on former South Korean President Park Geun-hye and her accomplices for a recently "revealed" plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to the North's official state media.

Some administration officials are pushing for the White House to announce punitive measures on steel imports even before a meeting of the Group of 20 nations in Hamburg, Germany, early next month.

The photo taken on May 10, 2016 shows North Korean leader Kim Jong-un watching a military parade and mass rally on Kim Il-sung square in Pyongyang.

But there's no sign North Korea has any intention of suspending its nuclear weapons development. So in the US, there are a lot of questions, a lot of concerns about President Moon's policy. The official insisted on anonymity in order to brief reporters on planning for the visit. The business delegation is expected to present an investment plan worth 7 trillion won ($6.12 billion) in the USA during Moon's official working visit.

The statement is a response to what North Korea claims was a failed U.S. -ROK assassination plot against current leader Kim Jong Un in April.

While the two allies are expected to highlight "the special meaning of the South Korea-U.S. alliance" and strengthen their military bond, it is important to refrain from using military threats that would exacerbate the situation and rethink the controversial deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), an anti-missile shield that severely harms national security of neighboring countries including China and Russian Federation.

Seoul's temporary suspension of the deployment of the THAAD US missile defense system to South Korea has raised concerns in both countries over a possible withdrawal of the US missile shield. The North Korean speaker declined the invitation. And the more North Korea is isolated, the more it has innovated to get around sanctions. Total two-way trade totaled $144.6 billion past year, with the US running a $17 billion deficit.
