Manny Pacquiao doesn't think Conor McGregor stands a chance against his fellow boxer and longtime rival Floyd Mayweather.

Last week, McGregor tweeted out a picture of himself standing in front of a mural showing him knocking out Mayweather with a thunderous left hand to the chin.

Conor McGregor has shocked the world before and can do so again by defeating arguably the best boxer of all time in Floyd Mayweather, says John Kavanagh. Sports' Dan Wetzel. "In fact, it could be very boring".

"The real fight and the best fight is (Gennady) Golovkin vs. Canelo (Alvarez)", Pacquiao said. "That's the fight I will be watching". There is no way he will be able to land a meaningful punch on Floyd [Mayweather].

So, you can count one potential buyer out.

"Mayweather's style doesn't make for attractive fights; it's hard to land punches", Alvarez said.

Not just Pacquiao, but quite a few from the boxing fraternity, including former four-weight world champion Roberto Duran have ridiculed the chances of McGregor pulling off an upset win over Mayweather.

In the meantime, Pacquiao is preparing for his own fight.

"And I mean to get Mayweather you have to look good against Jeff Horn, he has to look good, he has to be impressive".

The legendary Bernard Hopkins, meanwhile, criticized Mayweather for agreeing to make the fight in the first place, believing that it shows Mayweather's lack of respect for boxing.

Another victory will take him to half a century of wins and beyond the iconic milestone set by boxing legend Rocky Marciano. It will be great for boxing.
